In one of the most thrilling finale's to a Grand Tour stage, Primoz Roglic took an absolutely stunning stage 20 win and moved into the Maglia Rosa, surely winning the Giro d'Italia ahead of Geraint Thomas.
Primoz Roglic was the strongest, surviving even a late mechanical to move 14 seconds ahead on the general classification and he ended up leading Geraint Thomas by 40 seconds to take the stage win and arrive in Rome in the pink jersey.

Joao Almeida, the third in contention, finished third in the stage and will finish in the same position on the podium. Behind him, brilliant rides from Damiano Caruso and Thibaut Pinot and Thymen Arensman ensured they would claim top 6 finishes with Eddie Dunbar left to settle for 7th place. Andreas Leknessund, Lennard Kamna and Laurens de Plus round out the top 10.
