Ellen van Dijk has done it: the rider of Trek-Segafredo has set a new World
Hour Record on the Grenchen velodrome, setting a distance of 49.254 Kilometers over the whole hour on the track.
The Dutch rider rode a total distance of 49.254 kilometers and thus managed to convincingly ride the old record of Joss Lowden out of the books, adding over 800 meters to the previous record. Van Dijk has became the most recent record holder with no competitor in sight, giving a continuation to her streak of success in time-trialing - after she has taken the World champion's stripes last year in Leuven.
