After Matteo Trentin, UAE Team Emirates are set to confirm the renewal of Diego Ulissi, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The puncheur has endured very successful years with the UAE team and is set to continue them for an undefined period of time.
The 32-year old has had a long and successful career at the top of the sport, bringing in eight stage wins at the Giro d'Italia, aswell as dozens of other races which include World Tour classics, overall classification wins and more. He has since turning pro ridden in the same structure, initially in the Lampre-Merida team, which later became UAE Team Emirates which he will keep representing.
Ulissi is currently in the Giro d'Italia, riding in support of João Almeida who is seeking to fight for the overall win of the race. This year he has won the GP Industria, showing that despite despite being past his prime, he is still very much within the reach of big wins in the peloton.
