"Did the people at home enjoy it? Or was it over too quickly?" - Jeffrey Hoogland reacts to world record breaking 1km

Dutch track cycling superstar Jeffrey Hoogland broke a 10-year-long record with his time of 55.433 in the 1km event and now the 30-year-old has given some reaction.

“I don't actually know if I'm still alive. I can't really enjoy it yet, because it hurts everywhere. I haven't realized it yet, but I am very happy with the world record. That's why I came here. This is so cool!”, Hoogland told Algemeen Dagblad. “I almost expected miracles here at height, but it was still a blast of cycling. It wasn't until I heard the cheering at the finish that I knew it was a world record anyway. Did the people at home enjoy it? Or was it over too quickly?” Hoogland adds with a cheeky smile.
