Toon Aerts tested positive for the substance Letrozole on the 19th of January and has soon stopped racing, although not suspended. The UCI has issued an update on his case.
Recently, Aerts argued about the possibility of a recovery shake having been contaminated with the substance, with the Belgian appearing the crowd of a recent race noticeably without having cut his air ever since, leaving no detail to chance. He's lost his contract with Baloise - Trek Lions in the meantime, and this weekend at the Koppenbergcross a group of his supporters demanded answers from the UCI.

At this stage, the UCI cannot give an indication of timing for the finalisation of Mr Aerts’ proceedings," the press release said. "The UCI will continue to respect Mr. Aerts’ right to present his case and will proceed as expeditiously as possible as soon as it receives Mr. Aerts’ final position."
At the time being Aerts is preparing for his final explanation to the AAF, after having gone through "all relevant enquiries with third parties". More updates should come soon, but at the situation does not seem to be either improving or worsening for the Belgian.
