Thijs Aerts joins Intermarché-Circus-Wanty cyclo-cross team: "Interesting step for me to this international and big structure, with a WorldTeam"

Thijs Aerts has signed a contract with the Intermarché-Circus-Wanty cyclo-cross team. He will also be a part of Intermarché-Circus-Wanty's new UCI Development Team.

"After almost ten years with the same team, I am looking forward with a healthy excitement to this new challenge with the Intermarché-Circus-Wanty structure, which may hopefully last just as long,” Aerts said.

Formerly with Baloise Trek Lions, the Belgian hopes his new team can provide him with the exposure he couldn't receive there. "It will probably be a big and interesting step for me to this international and big structure, with a WorldTeam, continental team and cyclo-cross team.”

Aerts will ride alongside Kevin Kuhn, Arne Baers, Jelle Vermoote, Lauren Molengraaf and Marie Schreiber. “I learned about the shared expertise between the different teams. I hope to use the professional way of working to grow as a rider. My renewed road programme with the Development Team will also provide new impetus,” concluded the Belgian.
