Tour de La Provence receives green light from French Cycling Federation

Many uncertainties surround Tour de La Provence's future, but things are slowly becoming clearer. The race's organiser, Pierre-Maurice Courtade, has obtained permission from the French Cycling Federation.

However, FFC has imposed some conditions that must be met before the final decision can be granted. Paying 16,000 euros owed to the National Cycling League by January 15, 2023. It must also present “a schedule validated and countersigned by the police and gendarmerie for the payment of sums owed for the years 2021 and 2022 of up to €139,996.83.”

"The Council met on 21 December 2022 and ruled on the request to register the Tour de La Provence event on the 2023 UCI Road calendar. We inform you that the Federal Appeals Council has decided to give a favourable opinion on the registration of the Tour de La Provence event on the 2023 UCI Road calendar", read the statement released by French Federation.

Pierre-Maurice Courtade welcomes the decision by the Federation, "I thank the federation for this confidence, as well as our team who worked hard while waiting for this decision," he told AFP. He further reveals the date of race. "In any case, almost everything is ready for the 8th edition, planned for February 11th,” concluded Courtade.
