After Tadej Pogacar rode a Boxing Day cyclocross in his native Slovenia, the question of whether we would see the current Vuelta champion, Remco Evenepoel do something similar. His team manager Patrick Lefevere has no interest in seeing it however, "As a world champion, he would make himself look ridiculous."
Lefevere, the Soudal - Quick Step team boss left the world in doubt as to his opinion on the matter. "He will get through the mud, thanks to his power," said the Belgian. "However, he would drown in the technical zones. He started cycling too late for that."

The reigning road race world champion, Evenepoel himself has previously expressed that an attempt at cyclocross may well be something he would like to try in the future. He admitted though that it wasn't currently at the top of his priority list. "It's not a big goal," he said. "I don't think there are any opportunities to develop as a rider. The big dream on which I am now focused is winning the three Grand Tours."
If you missed it, Tadej Pogacar rode Ciklocros Ljubljana, in his native Slovenia on Boxing Day, December 26th. Showing some impressive bike handling skills, the two-time Tour de France winner managed to fight his way to a 2nd placed finish.
