Shirin Van Anrooij proves unbeatable at Zonhoven World Cup

Shirin Van Anrooij emerged as the triumphant victor of the UCI World Cup Zonhoven, demonstrating exceptional proficiency and prowess as she decisively distanced herself from the rest of the field during the second lap.

Fem van Empel, Puck Pieterse, and Shirin Van Anrooij had a strong start, but van Empel crashed during the first descent, allowing Pieterse and Van Anrooij to pull ahead.

Fem van Empel managed to recover and rejoin the competition, albeit at a disadvantage in terms of positioning, as she found herself trailing behind the leading duo. Pieterse fell in the sand section. This left Van Anrooij as the sole leader, and she was able to increase her lead to 20 seconds over the rest of the field.

Shirin Van Anrooij crossed the finish line without much competition and secured victory. Puck Pieterse finished second. Fem van Empel made a comeback for the bronze.
