Crelan - Corendon has taken a one-two victory today in Essen for the weekend's first cyclocross race. Marion Norbert Riberolle continues on last year's strong trend to take the victory on the day.
The race didn't prove to be very selective at first, with a large group to form through the first laps of the race. It was to be a tactical race, without the weather or track conditions playing a big role, and this benefited the team with the numbers in front: Crelan - Corendon.
On lap 6 of 7 Marion Norbert Riberolle launched an attack and this proved to be the winning move, as the Belgian quickly managed to build it and then sustain it against her rivals. Teammate Sara Casasola then rode home to a strong second place and completing the podium was Laura Verdonschot.
