Lucinda Brand steals the show at Superprestige Middelkerke with dominant win

At Superprestige Middelkerke, Lucinda Brand has taken a dominant win thanks to a near-faultless performance that showcased why the Baloise - Trek Lions star is considered one of the best in the world.

With Fem van Empel and Puck Pieterse absent, there would have been many feeling confident of their chances of victory at the start. Lucinda Brand didn't waste any time in attempting to assert her authority on the race and after a couple of laps, the Dutchwoman was already around 30 seconds clear of her nearest chaser, Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado.

By the start of the last lap, Brand's advantage had stretched to 58 seconds although the battle behind was much more exciting as Laura Verdonschot had overtaken Alvarado, sealing second place.
