Jens Dekker has a view of his return. The 25-year-old Dutchman crashed more than two weeks ago in the Maasmechelen World Cup and broke his radius, but is now back to training. Dekker will normally pin on a number again on Saturday, December 2, for Boom's Superprestige.
The rider, who is in his comeback season as a cyclo-cross rider, had a hard fall in the World Cup in Maasmechelen on Sunday, October 29, breaking his radius bone. However, a week after his crash he was back on the virtual cycling platform Zwift for a first training ride. Dekker is currently still training indoors, but will be able to ride outside next week.
Dekker will be seen competing again on Saturday, December 2, as he plans to make his return in the Boom Superprestige. Exactly a week later, on December 9, he will participate in the Exact Cross of Essen. Dekker also hopes for an election for the Namur World Cup in mid-December.
In 2016, Dekker became junior world champion, but the rider had various health problems from 2017 onwards. He has not been in action since 2020, but Dekker returned to racing in September this year. In the ten UCI crosses he has ridden so far, the ZPPR.nl-Orange Babies rider has stood on the podium six times. In Spain he already won a C2 and C1 crosses.
