Denise Betsema is giving her best but struggles to produce results. In the busy Christmas period, the best she achieved was the fifth in Superprestige Heusden-Zolder.
"It's not going so well right now. I really regret this result," she told WielerFlits. She continues, "The legs were really good. I couldn't finish but could be satisfied with my performance. I was hoping for the same legs Wednesday night, but that wasn't the case at all."
Furthermore, Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado overtook her overall lead in Superprestige. "That is an extra bummer. That I am then suddenly not in the lead is an extra bummer. Such an offday is not good for morale. I always struggle during the Christmas period. Hopefully, I will be good in Baal,” said Betsema.
Next month, the Dutchwoman will attend a training camp to prepare for the World Championships and National Championships.” At the end of January, I will go on a training camp abroad, though. That way, I can prepare well for the World Championships. It's definitely a goal," Betsema concluded.
