Fleur Moors on what motivated her to change teams for 2023/24 season: "At Baloise Trek Lions they support the choice to combine road and field"

Fleur Moors is finally back in the action. The young Belgian rode her first cross of the season in Dublin last weekend after being sidelined for some time due to training injury. However, she still hopes to have another great season with her new team Baloise Trek Lions.

The choice to leave Pauwels Sauzen - Bingoal had everything to do with the fact that she can now also ride a great program on the road, at Lidl-Trek. "The switch came about after Sven contacted us himself. Then we sat together and there was an immediate click," Moors explains to WielerFlits.

"My choice was actually made quickly. At Baloise Trek Lions they really support the choice to continue combining road and field, that appealed to me. I normally still had a contract with Pauwels Sauzen-Bingoal until January, but I already made the switch in mid-August. This allowed me to immediately prepare for the cyclo-cross season with my new team. Of course, my old team didn't like me leaving the team, but in the end everything went well. I am happy with that."

As a first-year U23 rider, Moors will tackle the season calmly. Not too much racing and little pressure. "I will also have to compete in many elite competitions. But I actually like that. These are races where I can start without any pressure. I know I can't get a podium there. Whether I finish tenth, fifteenth or twentieth doesn't really matter to me. It's mainly about how I felt and whether I'm getting better."
