Cyclocross world champion Fem van Empel is in the midst of a busy schedule that will keep her in action until New Year's Day. After a short break following her win at the European Championships in Pontchâteau, the 21-year-old Jumbo-Visma rider is set to resume competition with the X²O Trophy in Kortrijk this Saturday.

With a significant lead in the standings after the Koppenbergcross, Van Empel defends her lead over Denise Betsema, with a gap of almost two minutes. Her undefeated streak in the seven races of the winter season places her as one of the leading figures in the sport.

Van Empel's itinerary, according to the folks at Wielerflits, for the upcoming month of December includes a series of challenges at several prominent competitions. After the Urbancross in Kortrijk, she will participate in the Boom Superprestige alongside other promising riders such as Puck Pieterse and Shirin van Anrooij, as well as the talented Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado, while missing the World Cups in Dublin and Flamanville.

The subsequent schedule involves a training camp with the Jumbo-Visma road team, which will result in his absence from the Cross Exacto in Essen and the Val di Sole World Cup over the weekend of December 9-10. However, he will return to competition in force in the second half of the month, facing six challenges in fourteen days, including World Cup stages, the Superprestige and the X²O Trophee.

Jumbo-Visma has confirmed Van Empel's program until the X²O Trophy in Baal on January 1, 2024.
