The cyclocross season has started a few weeks ago, but not in Belgium. That will be the case this weekend in Beringen, and the opening "home" cross of the year is already having big names, in the women's field World Champion Fem van Empel is already confirmed.
Van Empel was the winner of this race last year as she built up on a brilliant season where she not only became World Champion in the elites, but also many wins and victories in both World Cup and X20 Badkamers Trofee. She will look to repeat her success from this day onwards.
The first World Cup race will take place one week after Beringen, in the USA at the Waterloo track, and the Jumbo-Visma rider is looking to get some race rhythm beforehand.
