Mathieu van der Poel's CX bike - the Canyon Inflite receives major update: "You cycle very predictably on the Inflite, which is something I really appreciate"

Canyon launched the new cyclo-cross model for this winter on Thursday. The German brand has given the Canyon Inflite, on which a total of five world titles were won, a 'major update', it announced. Canyon's new Inflite CFR models are based on the same design with which Mathieu van der Poel became cyclo-cross world champion in early 2023.

"This is the new benchmark in cyclocross," they proudly state. The old Canyon Inflite has been updated with a new internal cable routing, Ceramic Speed bottom brackets and an aero cockpit with a width of 40 millimeters. to further improve performance in the field.

Van der Poel has already won four World Championships on Canyon's Inflite model, which he is of course very pleased with. "You cycle very predictably on the Inflite, which is something I really appreciate about a bicycle," says the Dutchman in a press release. In addition to Van der Poel, Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado also became world champion on the bicycle in 2020, while Puck Pieterse, Zoe Bäckstedt and Maghalie Rochette also swear by the model.

It is not yet known on what date the Dutchman from Alpecin-Deceuninck will be seen for the first time on his new model. Van der Poel recently ended his season after the mountain biking test event for the Olympic Games, missed out on Circuit Franco-Belge and Paris-Tours, and is now having a well-deserved holiday before he starts his cross season. Alvarado, Pieterse, Bäckstedt and Rochette seem to be more likely to be spotted on Canyon's new bike.
