Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado took silver in the Val di Sole World Cup. She finished 44 seconds behind winner Puck Pieterse.
"I think I made a bit too many mistakes in the first two rounds," she said in the post-race interview.  She was unable to follow Pieterse as she rode away from the group. "I fell a few times and lost connection with Puck. After that, we rode at about the same speed. It was really the first few laps. But I can be satisfied with second place,” explained the Alpecin-Deceuninck rider.
Alvarado enjoyed the snowy course of the Val di Sole World Cup. "I think it was the smoothest course I have ever ridden on. There was a lot of ice. Sometimes you couldn't even see it. You were just riding on ice, it wasn't even snow anymore,” concluded Alvarado.
