Mads Pedersen: "It would be nice to win a stage at Giro next year"

Mads Pedersen of Trek-Segafredo is getting ready for the next season as the year comes to an end. His main target will be winning a stage in Giro d'Italia.

Pedersen added nine victories to his achievements list this year. It just so happened that he won thirteenth stage of the Tour de France and the Vuelta a Espana and plans to do the same for the Giro next year. "This year, I won both stages 13 at Tour and Vuelta. It would be nice to win a stage at Giro next year. I haven't looked at stage 13 of Giro yet, but if I win that one, I'll put a tattoo of number 13 on my back,” he told Sportwereld.

While Milano-Sanremo will kick off his season in March, he does not intend to hide that it's not his favorite. “I'll ride Milano-Sanremo again in 2023, but I don't like the race. I absolutely hate it. Italians will be mad at me after saying that, but it's a boring race. We do nothing for 5 hours and all of a sudden everyone goes crazy for 1.5 hours,” concluded Pedersen.
