Annemarie Worst out of competition following European Championships crash, return date unknown

Things are not going well for Annemarie Worst. The Dutchwoman hurt her knee in a fall at the European Championships, which resulted in a hospital visit where she was informed of inflammation in her knee.

As a result, she cannot train and race indefinitely. "This is not what I was hoping to share with you," Worst wrote on Instagram. She continues, "This picture was taken before I went to the doctor when I could still smile. But the news is not what I had hoped for. My knee didn't feel better after my fall in Namur, so I had a scan done. And the result was that I have inflammation in my knee.”

She has not provided any dates when she can make her return. For now, she will take some time off the track and focus on healing her knee. “Now I have to rest my knee, and I don't know when I can train and race again. So you won't see me at the start, but I hope I return soon," concluded Worst.
