With the cyclocross season close to it's finale, news have came out today regarding the calendar that the riders will have next season and there are some surprises included.
With Namur and Koksijde out of the World Cup next year as the organizers had different goals in mind, new spaces have been opened for new races on the calendar to be at the highest level. After being augmented to 15 rounds, next season the cup has changes once again and sees 14 rounds throughout the year, with one yet to be decided.
The USA will once again host the start of the World Cup in October with Waterloo and Fayetteville making for a double weekend spectacle in North America, and in October the remaining weekends see Czech Republic's Tabor track and Rucphen follow.
In November there are only three rounds, with Beekse Bergen, Overijse and Hulst taking up the spots, whilst in December Val di Sole makes a return, with two rounds in Antwerpen (cancelled this year) and Dendermonde aswell in the ranks. In the 11th of December there will be a round of the World Cup that is yet to be determined, although rumours point that London will host this race.
In January there will be the three closing rounds in Zonhoven, and then a new track as Benidorm will host Spain's return to the World Cup race in the 22nd of January, before a return to France in Besançon to wrap off the competition.
This year Eli Iserbyt was it's winner, beating Toon Aerts and Michael Vanthourenhout who filled up the top steps.
