Wout van Aert heads to Belgian Nationals with three teammates; Seven man Visma teams to take on Dutch men's road race

Team Visma | Lease a Bike have confirmed which of their riders will be heading to their respective National Championships in the coming days. Of note, Wout van Aert will take on the Belgian men's elite road race with three teammates.
A former winner of the Belgian tricolor back in 2021, van Aert will be supported in his quest for a second national road title by the Team Visma | Lease a Bike trio of Julien Vermote, Tosh van der Sande and Tiesj Benoot, with the latter also posing as a potential plan B and viable winner of the Belgian National Championship if the cards fall correctly on the 23rd of June.
Also worth noting, Team Visma | Lease a Bike will send a seven strong squad to the men's elite road race at the Dutch National Championships as sprint star Olav Kooij looks to take over the national title from his own teammate, Dylan van Baarle, who won't be defending his championship win from 2023. Instead of van Baarle, joining Kooij will be the likes of Koen Bouwman, Loe van Belle, Tim van Dijke, Bart Lemmen, Milan Vader and Mick van Dijke.
Elsewhere, Christophe Laporte will battle for the French National Championships, Ben Tulett will be competing for the British national road title, Attila Valter will defend his Hungarian title and Edoardo Affini will be at the startline of the men's elite road race at the Italian National Championships.

- For a while there, Eli was the best of the rest in cyclocross behind Mathieu and Wout. It must be tough to be forced to retire early due to medical issues, but good health trumps everything else. I wish him the best in his future endeavors.

- I agree that Ayuso was wrong in doing what he did at the tour, but we don't know everything behind the feud unless they all say honestly what went wrong. If he us such a rat and traitor, which it's a bit harsh, then what is to be said about Soler when he was with Movistar and didn't want to ride for Mas?
