Wout van Aert and Fem van Empel upload impressive runs from altitude training in Tenerife on their Strava

Several Visma | Lease a Bike riders are currently in altitude at Tenerife, where they are preparing for their upcoming goals. Among them are world champions Wout van Aert and Fem van Empel, who went out together on Tuesday morning. Not for cycling, but for running! Both the Dutch and the Belgian uploaded a Strava file of the running session.

The 21-year-old Van Empel ran just over four kilometers and did so in just under twenty minutes. "We don't have to do anything," was the title of her Strava trip, in which she of course referred to Van Aert's well-known statement. "Enjoyed," she then added in the caption.

In his Strava title, Van Aert focused on a well-known statement by Van Empel. At least, he was actually referring to a quote from the famous New Kids series. Van Empel - who lives in Den Dungen, the village that plays a 'prominent' role in the cult series alongside Maaskantje. "Luckily we didn't see a big fireball," Van Aert described his 6.18 kilometer run.
