Critérium du Dauphiné organisers need to find alternative route for stage 7, as Col de la Colombière is closed due to landslide

In what was ambitiously projected to be one of the hardest Critérium du Dauphiné editions in a while, not everything is going according to the organiser's plan. Nature once again showed it's unpredictable face, as a recent landslide won't allow the race to pass the famous Col de la Colombière.

The original stage 7 probably deserved the 'queen stage' tag. On a course of a bit over 145 kilometers, the race would've led riders over four 1st category climbs before HC category finish in Samoëns 1600 (10km á 9.3%). Col de la Colombière (11.6km á 5.8%) had its place in middle of this stage, but as it seems right now, the penultimate episode of 2024 Critérium du Dauphiné now needs to be re-routed and we can only sit patiently and wait for what the organisers come up with as replacement.
