Heading into the queen stage of the 2023
Tour de Romandie, many things are still yet to be decided. Groupama-FDJ's
Thibaut Pinot hopes his team can use this to their advantage.
Finishing 18th on the stage three individual time-trial, Pinot now sits in 16th in the general classification, a minute down on race leader Juan Ayuso. "I felt better than on the prologue, it's reassuring. I lacked a bit of power on the plateau at the top of the hill, I think that's where I lose a lot of time," Pinot recalls. "On the descent very fast I also had to lose a lot of time to some... it's average."
With Pinot's teammate,
Lenny Martinez currently 22nd in the GC, 1:10 down on Ayuso, the
Groupama - FDJ duo are hoping to use their numbers to their advantage and mount a two-pronged attack on the decisive fourth stage of the Tour de Romandie.
"Tomorrow (Saturday) it's going to be a good stage, in addition there's the announcement of bad weather, I hope for a good result," says Pinot. "Lenny Martinez also has a good time, so we will have two good cards to play."
