Enric Mas, like the rest of the favourites, did not follow Jonas Vingegaard when he attacked on the final arrival in Bejes. The Mallorcan, however, threw a dig at Movistar Team in which he justified his inaction and the team's lack of chances of winning today:
"We have the best team for the flat, but we lack a team for the top, today if we had had a man there we could have fought for the stage. I said it the other day, I don't want to repeat it.
About Vingegaard, he made it clear that he is a great champion and compared himself to him, assuring that they are "winners". He said he was thinking of attacking, but just at that moment Almeida and Roglic did. He is happy to hold on and is still dreaming of the podium:
"He's a winner, as we all are, they gave him a meter and he won. At the end with Juan there was a strong push, my idea was to attack when Roglic attacked, first Almeida and then Roglic, they overtook me, then I was able to hold on. It's a pity about the minute that Jonas took from us. I think he's thinking about the three of them and they have a chance, but it's a good opportunity for the podium."
