After the finale of today's Scheldeprijs, much attention was gathered at Tim Merlier after the Alpecin-Fenix rider headed in the opposite direction at the finish line, and had to jump into the barriers to avoid a possible collision or interference in the sprint of the chasing group that finished a few minutes behind race winner Alexander Kristoff.
