The Grand Prix de Denain was one by Jannik Steimle but the race was highlighted by a crash of Stefan Küng. The Swiss rider slipped in a muddy cobbled sector, and spectator footage of the incident is even more impressive.
The crash took place with 11 kilometers to go in the French classic, at a crucial time of the race where the group of favourites was attempting to make the catch on the front group. Ultimately, this incident was a decisive moment as the escapees stayed away and several riders of the group were shot out of contention.
