Stage 15 of the Vuelta a España will be the final day of the second week and it will finish atop the Cuitu Negru ski station. It will be an insanely hard climb with ramps that were debuted in 2012 going up to 24% at the end of a long climb. Tour de France and Vuelta a España winner in the 80's
Pedro Delgado has ridden the climb in anticipation for the race.
In the video he talks through the climb's history and details, showing the lower part of the Puerto de Pajares that had previously been used in the race - and then the final 3 kilometers that are very inconsistent and extremely steep at times. A climb very comparable to the Col de la Loze which is now a common appearance at the Tour de France. It will be 18.9 kilometers long at 7.1% average gradient.
