Rigoberto Urán had to leave the Giro d'Italia after testing positive for Covid. The Colombian from EF Education-EasyPost had prepared perfectly for the race, where he had the goal of winning a stage as he had done in the 2022 Vuelta a España.

Back home, he took stock of what had happened, regretted having had to leave and talked about his future. "I'm on my way home, not very happy, not very bored either, but it is very strange because when I see the Giro again not being there, my heart empties, a bad thing, one prepares a lot, trains, takes care," he explains.
