The fastest ever edition of
Paris-Roubaix provided extensive drama and spectacle. With the race concluded it is now time to look back at the decisive moments of the race, and have a deeper look on how Mathieu van der Poel took the win on the day.
The first third of the race was very fast with over 50Km/h in average before the first cobbled sector of the race as riders looked to make it into the breakaway of the day. Those would eventually be rewarded, as Laurenz Rex finished in the Top10, whilst Sjoerd Bax finished just outside of it. The race broke apart right before the Trouée d'Arenberg as Wout van Aert attacked and made a selection that eventually battled for victory.
