The climb of Petit Ballon had a whole corner filled with Thibaut Pinot fans. Close to home, the Frenchman has seen thousands cheer him on the final mountain stage of the Tour de France, his last chance to win a stage at the Tour.
Incredibly scenes were visible on the ascent as the Groupama - FDJ rider led solo through most of the ascent, and the fans have gone wild cheering for what is the idol of many in the area and the whole sport of cycling.
