Geraint Thomas' preparation for his crack at a Giro d'Italia/Tour de France double is well underway with the Welshman recently posting an Instagram update from the summit of Mount Teide.
"Only took me 13 years to get to the top of Teide," captions the INEOS Grenadiers leader on his official Instagram account, accompanied by images of himself at the summit. "Disappointed there was no lava at the top though. 3,700m."
"The highest I've ever been in my 37 years of life," Thomas says in the video posted. "Who's got the champagne? Forgot the Welsh flag though to stick in the rock."
