Mario Aparicio has achieved his first victory as a professional after winning the queen stage of the Tour of Sharjah. The Spaniard won alone on the very hard ramps of the Khor Fakkan and managed to enter alone at the finish line.
He ended up leaving in the last kilometers taking 7 seconds to the Ukrainian Anatolii Budiak and 26 to the German Miguel Heidemann. His Burgos teammate Alejandro Franco came close to the top 10 finishing eleventh, one minute and 18 seconds behind the winner.
Despite the victory in the queen stage, the overall is impossible for Aparicio. Slovenian Gal Glivar is leading by 19 seconds with Heidemann and 34 with Budiak. The best Spaniard is also Burgos BH's Ángel Fuentes, ninth, more than two minutes behind. Tomorrow, fifth and final stage between Sharjah Safari and Al Dhaid.
