The Tour of Colombia got off to a good start for Movistar Team, with Fernando Gaviria winning the opening stage, beating Italian Davide Persico and Mark Cavendish, who started late and had no chance against the Colombian.
Gaviria was perfectly launched by his teammate Albert Torres and then advanced towards the barriers to impose his strength against a Persico who complained without reason, as the La Ceja rider never changed his line once he launched his sprint.
