VIDEO | Bizarre moment where spectator fell into La Vuelta Femenina peloton and caused a crash

Stage 3 of La Vuelta Femenina ended with a bunch sprint won by Team SD Worx - ProTime's Femke Gerritse however it was a day full of crashes. One however, that is likely the most bizarre out of them all, was not caught by TV broadcast but was by spectators whilst in the stage's neutralized start.
A spectator-filmed clip has begun circulating on social media showing the moment in which, before the official start of the stage, a spectator stumbled and hit a rider in the peloton. Although this happened at slow speed, it still caused a crash and a pile-up in the peloton. You can check the unusual incident below:

- You were wondering how come MVDP is rated higher by whoever and the way JM refers to a website. Obviously they’re all somehow ranking which means attributing a score to performance. As I said, no idea how but one reason he may be ranked higher is if more than just wins are counted. Like at the Olympics, some rank by gold, some prefer considering all medals, usually in order for a preferred country/athlete to look better. At some moment, in order to rank more than wins, every ranking or algorithm has to attribute points or value to different positions in order to tally and compare.Mistermaumau28-05-2025

Maybe she was pushed, she seemed too out of control for fell
To me it seems like she wanted to take a step closer but she hadn’t noticed the level was lower and as she tried to look down to understand the unexpected movement in her leg her balance continued forward and then she tried to find footing to stop the movement but there was none left so down she went, silly fart. Hope that girl in the red jersey was ok, didn’t seem to react well.
It's pretty obvious they didn't notice the step and stumbled down. It's clear because there are other spectators sitting on the step and the stumbler was looking at the peloton and not where they were stepping.
