At the Giro d'Italia the award seemed to have a clear favourite but at the
Tour de France the super-combative award was a tight battle. In the end the race organizers have awarded it to
Victor Campenaerts who will be climbing onto the podium on the Champs-Elysées this afternoon.
Campenaerts is known for his aggressive style of racing and he has put it on full display throughout these three weeks. He's not been in contention to win a stage, but the
Lotto Dstny rider has featured in five breakaways throughout the race - stages 5, 9, 12, 18 and 19. Furthermore he has been on the attack in other days, including yesterday's start in Belfort where he tried to escape the peloton despite the hard mountainous terrain.
