UPDATE! Men's Tre Valli Varesine cancelled due to heavy downpour

Although earlier today the women's peloton faced tough weather conditions and a lot of rain at Tre Valli Varesine it's been decided conditions are now too bad for the men to continue, as the riders have been sent back to the team buses.

According to several teams, in the last minutes it has been confirmed that the race will be delayed and start at 12:20CET whilst two laps have been cut. This will shorten the length of the race from 200 kilometers to, likely, 168; but it won't change the aspect of the race. With the difficult weather conditions it will be very selective and it will be decided on the same roads. Tadej Pogacar and Remco Evenepoel feature among the star-studded field.

UPDATE

At 110km to go, the men's race was paused initially. Although as conditions showed no signs of any improvement, the decision has now been made by race organisers to cancel this year's edition and send the riders back to the safety and warmth of the team bus.
