UAE Team Emirates head to Milano-Sanremo with puncheur-filled lineup led by Tadej Pogacar

UAE Team Emirates have revealed their lineup for Milano-Sanremo. The upcoming first monument of the season will take place this Saturday and there has been a lot of debate on whether Tadej Pogacar is capable of succeeding in it, but UAE bring in several cards that could be in contention in the finale.

Tadej Pogacar will be leading the team, one that comes with the ambition of making the race as hard as possible in the uphill sections and attacking there. Alessandro Covi will likely be protected aswell, giving the team cards to play towards the finale. With the presence of Davide Formolo, Diego Ulissi and Jan Polanc it is almost certain that the UAE team will be attacking on the climbs, as they have a lot of firepower to do so and don't come with an option for a possible sprint like Fernando Gaviria or Juan Sebastián Molano.

With 293 kilometers on the menu, the climbs can be made harder than they seem on profile. It is expected that the team will be pushing the pace hard in the Tre Capi, specially Capo Berta, and are likely to attack or push the pace as hard as possible in the Cipressa to thin down the peloton and also put the sprinters under difficulty.

UAE Team Emirates for Milano-Sanremo: Tadej Pogacar, Alessandro Covi, Davide Formolo, Ryan Gibbons, Jan Polanc, Oliviero Troia and Diego Ulissi.
