EF Education-EasyPost chased stage wins at the Tour de France, however didn't manage to come out of it with many results to show for. Rigoberto Urán was one of the main prospects of the team, but he's expressed disappointment over how the race panned out.
At the end of the race, the veteran was not shy of honesty regarding his performance at the Tour de France: “My assessment? A 0. Bad. The objectives were not achieved, a stage was not achieved, I was not in the top 10". Urán featured in some breakaways after cracking out of the fight for the Top10, but didn't manage to finish in the Top10 of any stage despite his main attempt in Mende looking good until the final ascent.
"I tried to do very well, but none of the objectives were met," he added. Without a stage win to it's name EF Education didn't manage to achieve any meaningful result, and did not manage to escape the fight for relegation - except for Neilson Powless who managed to ride into 13th place to bring 105 UCI points to the team.
It is unclear yet if Urán will be riding the Vuelta a España, however it is more likely that he will be recovering and refocusing on the late-season classics where he has in the past thrived.
