Study reveals the benefits of EPO in cycling

EPO is a well known term in cycling, for reasons that hold a dark history in the sport. It has been one of the prohibited methods of election for many over the last decades, however with a very meaningful decrease into modern cycling. A study has been conducted on it's benefits, revealing surprising results.

Researchers for the Universities of Copenhagen and Aarhus, in Denmark - funded by the Danish anti-doping agency - have found that injecting microdoses of EPO three times a week for a month improved performance. By how much? 4%.

The test, conducted in a group of 48 people, were limited to a period of a month and do not represent the results of long-term use. However, in this period of time the study has found a 4.1% increase in maximum power, 4.2% in VO2 max and 2.9% in aerobic power.
