"This race is within my capabilities, but with a different approach" - Despite 38th place Lotte Kopecky will return to win the Liege-Bastogne-Liege Femmes in the future

Lotte Kopecky did not appear in the battle for top spots at Liege-Bastogne-Liege Femmes today. The world champion crossed the line in 38th place after she had to let go of the group of favorites on the Côte de la Roche-aux-Faucons with 14km from the line.

"I was just a little short on the Roche-aux-Faucons. With fresher legs I might be able to survive here. Anyway, it was a good first participation. This is within my capabilities, but with a different approach," the SD Worx - Protime rider analyzed. "This was a positive experience for me."

Along the way, Kopecky and the favorites seemed not to be competing for victory at all. "It's better not to give someone like Grace Brown too much of a head start. As a team in general it was okay, I think. This result shows that it is simply difficult to win a race."

Liege-Bastogne-Liege Femmes is also Kopecky's last race of a long spring. "It was a positive spring. I've learned a few things here and there. In general I can be satisfied with my results. Now I'm going to rest and recharge my batteries. I want to get back to quality training and prepare for the summer."
