"This peloton is still often too hesitant" - Ine Beyen wants to see more from Tour de France Femmes riders

As was somewhat expected, Team SD Worx have been the dominant force so far at the Tour de France Femmes, taking two stage wins and holding the Maillot Jaune. Ex-pro and Sporza analyst Ine Beyen wants to see more from the rest of the peloton.

"You don't have to think much, you just have to dare," Beyen tells Ruben Van Gucht as part of Sporza's coverage of the 2023 Tour de France Femmes. "If you do nothing, you will not achieve anything. This peloton is often too cautious."

One team who has been on the attack during the first four stages however has been Fenix-Deceuninck. "That team has been attacking the entire Tour and they dare to do something against the big blocks. Everyone wishes them this victory. Yesterday they almost won, today they succeeded. Great!" Beyen says, praising Yara Kastelijn's stage 4 victory.

Finally, Beyen casts an eye towards the GC battle with Demi Vollering and Annemiek van Vleuten still expected to be the main contenders. "She even thought for a moment that she was the winner, but she is the moral winner," she says, referencing Vollering's celebration as she crossed the line in second on stage 4. "She took a few seconds on Annemiek van Vleuten and that was her aim. She wants to start the Tourmalet with a lead and that also gives a mental advantage."
