How much prize money can Vingegaard, Almeida, Pidcock, Pedersen and Ayuso earn at the Vuelta a Espana 2025

The Vuelta a España 2025 will take place from August 23 to September 14 and will start from Italy! The final Grand Tours of the season will start in Italy, pass through France and Andorra, before going through a heap of mountainous and hilly stages throughout the Spanish mainland. We take a look at the prize money that will be distributed.
The total amount of prize money that will be distributed throughout the 21 stages of the Vuelta a España is of €1.115.775, or from brevity's sake, €1.1 million euros. This will be given as a basis of the following classifications: Overall; Points; KOM; Youth and Teams, alongside a few other minor prizes.

Stage Results

Everyday, the winner of the stage will win over €11.000 in prizes. The first 20 riders to cross the finish line will, in some way, win something. Every single day then, €28.860 will be handed out from this result.

Final overall classification

The overall classification is given on the basis of two different awards, one given from the race organization and one coming from special rewards for the riders. The winner of the overall classification will win €337.285 when both are added; and all the riders present in the Top20 will also receive some sort of compensation. The winner of the overall classification will gather €150.000.

Final points Classification

When it comes to the points classification, the winner will receive €11.000. The Top5 receive prize whilst everyday the rider who wins the most points will gain €100.

Final KOM classification

The KOM - or mountains - classification will see the Top5 make money at the end of the race, with the winner winning €13.000, whilst the best scoring rider everyday wins €100.

The Alto de l'Angliru will attribute €1000 and €520 for the first two riders at the summit; HC climbs give €920 and €615; 1st category climbs give €460 and €310; 2nd category climbs give €230 and €155; 3rd category climbs give €115 and €80; and 4th category climbs give €100 and €60.

Final Youth classification

The Youth classification winner will win €11.000 at the end of the Vuelta, with the Top3 all making some money.

In the teams classification, €400, €200 and €100 are given to the best team everyday, whilst the winner of the final classification climbs to the podium but also wins €12.500.
