"There's Remco, you can see him in the distance... He's flying uphill" - Belgians complete a 200km training ride ahead of the Worlds

When the World Championships last time visited Switzerland in 1996, it was none other than Belgium's Johan Museeuw who took the rainbow jersey. Before his triumph, the legend is said to have trained very hard in the Swiss mountains - a tradition his successors honored on Thursday, three days before the start of road race. Will Remco Evenepoel also benefit from the 200km ride on Sunday?

"On the way to Sankt Moritz today," Victor Campenaerts begins his vlog. "With usual suspect Remco (Evenepoel, ed.), double Olympic..." The newly crowned world champion time trial joins in. "I'm about to fall through the ice, guys," laughs Evenepoel. "It's enough leeching on Remco, right," De Plus interrupts both gentlemen. Campenaerts immediately responds to that.

"From now on, we'll be leeching on... Mister International, my mate Laurens de Plus," he responds, after which Campenaerts continues briefly with De Plus in English. Then we see the fourth participant of the training ride, namely none other than national coach Vanthourenhout himself. "A special guest, who is holding up traffic by hanging on to the car," they are laughing. "Discussing tactics, Victor," Vanthourenhout jokes back.

Not much later we only see De Plus cycling with Campenaerts. When the camera is pointed forward, we see that Evenepoel has lost his way uphill from his compatriots. "There's Remco, you can see him in the distance. We've been dropped," a panting Campenaerts sounds. "He's flying uphill, mate," concludes De Plus.
