'The unexpected Gunner' - Remco Evenepoel goes wild celebrating Arsenal's insane victory over Chelsea

Imagine going to a football game between Arsenal and Chelsea and sitting next to you is cycling World Champion Remco Evenepoel going wild over the 5-0 victory. Some football fans actually experienced that this week, as the Belgian unleashed his passion for the sport at the Emirates Stadium.

Evenepoel was, before being a world class rider in cycling, a talented football player in the youth ranks of Belgium. Although his success turned out to be in another sport, his passion for football did not fade and he revealed that he is a massive fan of the English club Arsenal. Still injured following his crash at Itzulia Basque Country, Evenepoel made the trip to London to watch Arsenal-Chelsea this Tuesday and was treated to a 5-0 victory.

"Something not many people know is how I’ve always been a huge fan of Arsenal since being a kid," he shared in an Instagram post, with lots of footage recorded by himself and his wife. "To let off some steam after my injury and before we leave on training camp to prepare for my next goals, I went to watch Arsenal for the first time and what a game it was."

Safe to say the many moments of celebration led to amusing footage, in which the Belgian star blended into the crowd and partied like many around him. "Time to get back to work now and come back as strong as possible for the second part of the season."
