Gloria Rodríguez has finished the
Paris-Roubaix Femmes in the 104th position. The
Movistar Team rider has been the last to enter the finish line in the time allowed, in a group of 5 led by Belgian Valerie Demey, 17 minutes and 39 seconds behind the winner Alison Jackson. Her hands shown how difficult of a challenge Roubaix really is.
The brave cyclist from Torre-Pacheco showed us in the press area after the race her hands: they were destroyed, full of blisters. It is an outrage what hands suffer in Roubaix, there is nothing like it in the world of cycling. Nothing like it. That constant rattling on each sector of pavé that makes the whole body suffer, yes, but especially the hands.
Impressive the merit of Gloria who, after working for her teammates Floortje Mackaij and Arlenis Sierra, gave everything to reach the finish line despite the suffering. Brutal her effort. And sometimes we forget that cycling is the hardest sport in the world...
