The good news keep on coming for Lidl-Trek - Former MotoGP rider Aleix Espargaró has a date for pro debut with the team

In the last cycling market, one of the most mediatic news was the signing of Aleix Espargaró by Lidl-Trek. The former MotoGP rider joined the American team more as a face, but with the goal of racing with the team - more specifically, for the time being, with the development team.
He himself made this clear in his statements when his move occurred. So far, however, he has not contested any races with Lidl. But that's about to change. According to AS, it is already known when Espargaró will make his debut.
The 35-year old, resident in Andorra with several of his teammates, is aiming to be part of the Lidl-Trek lineup at the Tour of Austria 2025. The race will be contested from July 9-13, when the first week of the Tour de France is also taking place.

There could be a budget cap, a salary tree where 2nd best rider cannot earn more than x% of leader and next best only y% of 2nd best etc. so no team can offer salaries so interesting that top riders want to concentrate, or a budget surplus penalty where a team spending more than the allowed limit has to donate double or triple that amount to be shared among all but the top 5 (example) team budgets.
