After his third place in the Grand Prix La Marseillaise on Sunday, Kévin Vauquelin showed that he is in a good shape at the start of the season and one of the serious contenders for victory in the Etoile de Bessèges.
"I'm going to ride with a lot of desire," he assured. "I want to take a 'little revenge' compared to last year," Vauquelin refers to the breakaway on queen stage that took better than 4th place in the GC away for the Frenchman.
Kévin Vauquelin adds: "I know that the level will be high, but my goal is to achieve the best possible result, to shine both on the stages and in the general classification. Starting the season by immediately obtaining good results immediately gives you confidence for the future, I was able to see it in 2023."
"This event also ends with a race against the clock. It's coming in with a bang, and it's a day that I also enjoyed last year," he concludes his analysis of the race at his team's website.
