In 2024, Tadej Pogacar will attempt to become the first man since Marco Pantani to take home victory at both the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France in the same year.
When asked by Road Code which of the two Grand Tours will be his biggest goal for 2024 however, the Slovenian came up with a totally different answer. "World Championships!" Pogacar replies with a laugh and a wry smile.
The 25-year-old finished on the podium in the men's elite road race at the 2023 World Championships in Glasgow, third behind winner Mathieu van der Poel and runner-up, Wout van Aert. With this taking place in Zurich, could the Slovenian superstar finally get his hands on the coveted Rainbow Jersey?
If he succeeds in his goals and manages to add the world title and the Giro d'Italia win to a third Tour de France title, Pogacar could be set for the greatest season of all-time!
I still believe that taking the Tour title back is Tadej's true number one goal this year. I also believe that he's going to put on a hell of a show for all of the cycling fans out there.
